ABOUT NIKHIL & RLA
What started as a hobby in 2016 has grown into an Academy of three branches having coached 100+ students in a span of six years.
The journey started in 2007 when Nikhil started learning drums at Sanjeev Pandkar's classes In Pune.
In College he was a part of a rock band, during which they took part in various live shows. He attended workshops conducted by renowned drummers such as :
Gino Banks, Jai Row Kavi & Gavin Harrison. He continued to explore his embodied experience of rock drumming, explored new music bands and raised his level of basic drum and music fluency overtime.
In 2012, he went to England to study in Alchemea College of Audio Engineering and learnt studio sound engineering, music production, music theory. He came back to India in 2014 and started working as a freelance sound engineer. In 2016 after receiving 2-3 enquires for drums classes, he started his classes from his home studio.
Along with this he also started working with Nimish at ‘Floating Point Studio’ and conducted drums classes. He started with 5 students there which grew through word of mouth to more than 50 students in just two years.
After seeing this, he started with his official academy called ‘Rhydrum’ of exclusive personalised drums classes full time. RhyDrum has three branches right now: In Sahakarnagar, Karve Nagar and Shaniwar Peth.
Learning Drums is a complex art. Since the drums don't produce any melodic notes, a drummer will take a more rhythmic approach to songs, providing beats and rhythms to benefit those songs. Drummers are important in a band because they act as the timekeeper, lead many of the song transitions, and help build intensity with the volume of the instrument.

RLA - RETRO LEGENDARY ACT
Nikhil has now joined joined RLA (Retro Legendary Act) which is one of Pune's Oldest Rock Bands. RLA aka Retro Legendary Act is classic rock band from Pune founded in 2005. They are famous for belting out covers from legendary bands like Deep Purple, Scorpions, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Eric Clapton, Beatles, Eagles, Pink Floyd and Queen etc.
They have been playing in various venues across India. (Mostly all Hard Rock Cafe's all over India). Theyve had there gigs in Pune, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai.
